How to Add Post(s) to your Website

Essentials and Premium customers can create an area on the public facing website for news, events and weather-related updates.

If you want to add posts and categorize them, such as news, events or weather-related closures, simply follow these instructions:

Step 1: Publish your Post

Navigate to the WordPress menu > Posts > Categories

Start by creating a category for your posts such as news, events, or weather updates. Create your categories and save your changes.

Navigate back to WordPress menu > Posts > Add New

Here you will enter a title and add any text that you want to include. You can add media, customize the formatting, add hyperlinks and even embed a Form. Set the featured image for your post as well. You'll then want to select the appropriate Category for this post and then Publish you post.

Step 2: Publish a Page to display all your Posts

If you don't already have a page that displays all your posts, you'll need to create one.

Navigate to WordPress Menu > Pages > Add New

Give your page a title and add any text or verbiage you want to include. Then click on Advanced Layout Editor.

Within Avia Layout Builder, select Content Elements tab and add Blog Posts, and then Publish your page.

Navigate to WordPress Menu > Appearances > Menus. At the top, select the menu you want to edit: i.e. Main Menu or Secondary Menu. Next search for the web page you just created and select it, and then select Add to Menu. Once you've added it to the Menu Structure, you can drag and drop the pages to be displayed in your preferred order and then Save Menu.

You now have a page on your website menu that will display all your posts.
