Managing Email Accounts and Aliases (Forwarders)

Learn how to add and delete email accounts and manage email forwarders the redirect messages to one or more recipients.

Updated over a week ago

Member Splash Premium customers get email accounts and forwarders (also known as aliases) as part of your service plan. You can manage them directly from your Member Splash dashboard under the Manage Email tab.

NOTE: We initially configure your account so that only users with the Board level role can access the email settings. If you are logged in with a Board level account you can choose to grant access to the email settings to other user roles, such as the club manager.

Email Accounts

To manage your existing email accounts and add new ones go to Communications -> Email Accounts in the dashboard.

Click on the Email Accounts tab on that screen to see your existing email accounts, add new ones, delete existing ones, or change the password to an account.

Add an Email

To add an email simply put the email address you would like to use and a password. If you would like an initial welcome email sent to the new address with instructions on connection settings check the Send Welcome Message box.

Manage Email

If you have existing email accounts you can change the password or delete the account.

Email Forwarders

Your Member Splash Premium subscription also includes email forwarders. To add or delete email forwarders click on the Email Forwarders tab.

An email forwarder (also known as an alias) is an email address that simply forwards messages on to another address. There is not an actual inbox for the email address and you can not send messages from that address. Many clubs use email forwarders so that board members do not have to check multiple accounts. They simply receive their pool emails at the same email address they already use.

Example: Bob Smith is president of the pool this year. His personal email address is [email protected]. The pool creates an email alias for the address [email protected] that forwards on to Bob’s personal address. Bob doesn’t need to set up anything new, but when he replies to a message sent to [email protected] the reply comes from his personal address.

If you have any existing forwarders they will be listed on this screen. Click the blue ADD EMAIL FORWARDER button to create a new one. For Forward Type choose Email. For Forward to Email Address put the destination email you would like the messages forwarded to.

Two things to note:

  1. You can not edit an existing email forwarder. For example, if you have a new board president and you would like to send messages addressed to president@ to that person you will need to delete any existing forwarders for president@ and create a new one.

  2. You can have multiple email forwarders for the same address. For example, if you an address like [email protected] you might want that to send copies to several different board members. Simply add as many forwarders as you need.
