Installment and Full Bond Products in Member Splash

Learn how to set up installment and full bond products in Member Splash using account tags to track payments

Updated this week

Some clubs prefer to collect bond payments in installments rather than a lump sum. Member Splash makes this possible by creating multiple products and using account tags to track payment progress.

This guide walks you through how to set up 1st Installment Bond, 2nd Installment Bond, and Full Bond products.

Step 1: Create the Required Account Tags

Before creating products, you’ll need account tags to track installment status.

  1. Navigate to Membership > Accounts > Settings > Account Tags.

  2. Add the following tags:

    • First Installment Paid

    • Full Bond Paid

These tags will later be applied (or replaced) automatically based on product purchases.

Step 2: Create the 1st Installment Bond Product

  • Pricing: Set price as determined, using flat fee field

  • Visibility: Set to display for account types as required. Hide from accounts with the account tag "Full Bond Paid."

  • Post-Payment Action: Apply account tag → “First Installment Paid”

Step 3: Create the 2nd Installment Bond Product

  • Pricing: Set price as determined, using flat fee field

  • Visibility: Only visible to accounts with the “First Installment Paid” tag. Hide from accounts with the account tag "Full Bond Paid."

  • Post-Payment Action: Replace tag “First Installment Paid” with “Full Bond Paid”

Step 4: Create the Full Bond Product

  • Pricing: Set price as determined by club, using flat fee field

  • Visibility: Set to display for all relevant account types. Hide from accounts with the account tag "Full Bond Paid."

  • Post-Payment Action: Apply account tag → “Full Bond Paid”

Step 5: Test Your Setup

Once your products and tags are configured:

  1. Run through a test purchase of the 1st Installment Bond to confirm the “First Installment Paid” tag is applied.

  2. Attempt purchase of the 2nd Installment Bond with that account to ensure visibility works and the tag is correctly replaced with “Full Bond Paid.”

  3. Confirm that purchasing the Full Bond directly applies the “Full Bond Paid” tag.

Best Practices

  • Clearly communicate to members which payment option they should select (installment vs full).

  • Double-check account type visibility so the right members see the right products.

  • Review tags periodically to ensure accuracy across accounts.
