If you've asked why Member Splash doesn't support Stripe, PayPal, or other payment processors you may already use elsewhere, you're not alone. This article explains our approach and the reasoning behind it.
The short answer
Member Splash is built specifically for swim clubs, HOAs, and community associations. That specialization shapes every decision we make, including how payments work. Supporting a single, deeply integrated payment partner is a deliberate choice and not a limitation.
Why we don't support Stripe or other general-purpose processors
Stripe is an excellent product. So are Square, PayPal, and others. But they're built for general commerce, not membership organizations with the complexity our clubs manage: seasonal billing cycles, installment plans, ACH and card processing, guest passes, POS transactions at the front desk, and reconciliation across all of it.
Integrating with multiple payment processors would require us to maintain separate codebases, test across multiple systems, and support clubs through issues we have no direct relationship to fix. In practice, that means slower development, more bugs, and support tickets that dead-end at "contact your payment provider."
What a single partnership actually means for you
Because we work exclusively with one payment partner, we can:
Build payment features purpose-built for how your club actually operates
Troubleshoot and resolve payment issues end-to-end without passing you between vendors
Negotiate pricing and capabilities on behalf of our entire customer base
Release improvements to payment workflows faster and with more confidence
When something goes wrong with a payment, you call us and not a third party.
What about the rates?
We understand that payment processing fees are a real cost for your club. Our payment partner's rates are competitive for the nonprofit and membership association market, and we're continuously working to ensure our clubs are getting fair value. If you have specific questions about rates, reach out to your Member Splash contact directly.
The bottom line
Our goal is to give your club a platform that just works, from the first membership purchase of the season to the last POS transaction on Labor Day. A single, deeply integrated payment partner is how we keep that promise.
