When a product has more than one rule or price variation, the Next Rule Relationship setting tells Member Splash how each one connects to the next. Rules are always checked in order, top to bottom.
Find the Next Rule Relationship setting
Go to Finances > Products and open the product.
Find the Next Rule Relationship dropdown on each rule under Show / Hide / Require Rules, or on each variation under Flat Rate Pricing > Price Variations.
Choose And, Or, | And, or | Or. Leave it blank on the last rule.
Choose And or Or
And: both rules have to be true, and both are applied.
Or: if the first rule is true, it's applied and the next one is skipped. If it's false, the next rule is checked.
The examples below use a Board Member discount and an early bird discount.
Example: And
The account needs the Board Member tag and has to pay within the early bird dates to get both discounts ($350 total). Neither discount applies on its own.
Example: Or
If the account has the Board Member tag, it gets the $300 Board Member discount and nothing else is checked. If not, Member Splash checks whether the early bird discount applies. The two discounts never stack.
Group rules with | And and | Or
Use these when you have three or more rules and want to treat the first ones as a group, like "(A or B), then C."
| Or: if anything in the first group applied, skip the next rule.
| And: whatever happened in the first group, check the next rule too.
Example: | Or
Building on the Or example: if either the Board Member or early bird discount applied, the Senior discount is skipped.
Example: | And
Whatever happens with the first two discounts, the Senior discount is checked separately and applied if it's true.
💡 Using a Selected Product rule? Don't pair it with Or. Member Splash can't know ahead of time whether the member will pick that product.
