If your club takes card payments on a form, you can pass the card processing fee (2.9% + $0.30) on to the person paying. The fee appears as its own line, so they can see what it’s for.
Add the fee to your form
Before you start, your form needs a Product field, a Total field, a Credit Card field, and a payment feed. See Collecting Payments Via Forms.
Go to Content > Forms and open your form.
If your form charges for more than one item, add a Subtotal field from Pricing Fields. Skip this step if your form already has one.
Add a Product field from Pricing Fields, and set the Field Label to Card Processing Fee.
In the field settings, set Field Type to Calculation, check Disable Quantity, and check Required.
In the Formula box, enter
(({subtotal} + 0.30) / 0.971) - {subtotal}. Use the Merge Tag menu to insert your Subtotal field in place of{subtotal}.
If your form also accepts ACH, open Conditional Logic, turn it on, and set it to Show this field if Payment Type is Credit Card.
Add a short Description, like “Covers the cost of processing your card payment.”
Make sure your form has a Total field, then click Save Form.
💡 Why not just add $3.20 to a $100 charge? The 2.9% is charged on the full amount, including the fee itself. Adding $3.20 would leave your club with $99.91. The formula adds a few extra cents so your club gets the full price.
