How to Manage Admin Users

How to find, filter, add, edit, and delete admin and staff Users from the Admin > Users screen.

To give board members or staff access to the administrative side of Member Splash, you'll need to create a User account for them. Users are separate from member accounts, they're used for anyone who needs to log in and manage the site itself.

Finding Users

Go to Dashboard > Admin > Users.

The Users screen can be viewed as a list or as a grid grouped by role, using the toggle in the top left of the toolbar. From here you can:

  • Search users by username

  • Use Filters to narrow the list

  • Click switch next to a user to log in as them

  • Click the pencil icon to edit a user, or the trash icon to delete one

Filtering Users

Click Filters to narrow the list by:

  • Role: the user roles configured for your site (for example, Staff, Manager, Board)

  • Has logged in: Any, Yes, or No

Adding a User

Click Add User in the top right corner. This opens the Add user window.

  • Username: minimum 5 characters. All usernames must be unique, if you're using a title like "Treasurer," include your club's initials to make it unique, for example "MSTreasurer"

  • Email (optional): required if the user's role includes Support capabilities, since this is the address that will receive support replies

  • Display name

  • Password

  • Role: select from your site's configured user roles, including any custom roles your club has added

Note: The Add user and Edit user windows include one Email field. A separate Communications Email field is not part of the current admin-user workflow.

Click Create user to save, or Cancel to close without saving.

If you use custom roles, names with spaces (for example, Board Member) can be assigned from this same role list.

Editing a User

Click the pencil (edit) icon next to a user. This opens the Edit user window, where you can update the Username, Display name, First name, Last name, Email, and Role. Click Save when finished. This same role selector supports your standard roles and any custom multi-word roles configured for your site.

Deleting a User

Click the trash icon next to a user to remove their access.
