Installments Overview

Let members pay for membership, initiation and equity products over a set schedule instead of all at once.

Installments let your members pay for an eligible product over a set schedule instead of all at once. Member Splash charges the first payment at checkout, then charges the saved card automatically on each scheduled date.

What installments are

Installments are a way to collect payment, not a price. The member pays the same total they would pay in full. You decide how many payments and how often; the member decides at checkout whether to pay in full or split it.

Which products can use installments

You can turn on installments for any products categorized as membership (slug: membership-fee), initiation (slug: initiation-fee) and equity fee (slug: equity-fee) fee types.

How it works for your members

  1. The member selects a product that offers installments. A Pay in X installments label appears under the product name.

  2. At payment, they choose Credit or Debit, then Pay in full or Pay in X installments.

  3. They review the full payment schedule, add a card and pay the first installment today.

  4. Member Splash charges the remaining installments automatically on schedule. Weekly, monthly and yearly plans send a reminder email 3 days before each charge.

Good to know

  • No interest. The total is split evenly across the payments.

  • Processing fees are included. The online processing fee is calculated on the full order and spread across the payments.

  • Online checkout only for now. Installment plans are available through the member's online Credit or Debit checkout. They are not an option on Finances > Offline Payment.

  • One item at a time. An installment plan covers one product. Other items in the cart, such as guest passes, are removed and must be purchased separately.

  • You manage plans in one place. Every plan appears under Finances > Recurring Billing.

  • Subscriptions are coming soon. You will see the option in the product settings, but it is not available yet.
