How to Set Up Installments on a Product

Turn on installments for a membership, initiation or equity product and set the payment schedule.

You turn on installments in the product's own settings, in the Installments & Subscriptions section. It takes about two minutes per product.

💡Note on Fee Types: Installments are only available on products with one of these fee types: membership-fee, initiation-fee, or equity-fee. Check the slug, not the name, since your club may have renamed these fee types. You can see the slug in Finances > Products > Fee Types.

Steps

  1. Go to Finances > Products and open the membership, initiation or equity product you want to offer in installments.

  2. Scroll to the Installments & Subscriptions section.

  3. Under Payment Options, click Installments.

  4. Under Interval, choose the unit of time between charges: Days, Weeks, Months or Years.

  5. Under Frequency, enter how many intervals pass between charges. For example, choose Months and enter 1 to charge monthly.

  6. Under Total Number of Charges, enter the total number of payments, including the first payment made at checkout. If fir example, you enter 3, the member pays when they place the order and twice more.

  1. Check the schedule preview that appears below the fields.

  2. Click Update to save the product.

Before you publish your products

  • Pricing stays the same. Installments use whatever the product already costs for that member at checkout, including any Account Type pricing.

  • Changes only affect new plans. If you change a product's installment settings, members who already started a plan keep their original schedule. New purchases use the new settings.

  • To stop offering installments, deselect Installments so Payment Options is empty, then click Update. The product will be sold in full only.

  • Test before opening sales. Log in as a test account and walk through checkout so you see exactly what your members will see.

Known limitations

(Last updated: October 14, 2026)

  • Credit or debit card only for now. Installment plans aren’t available via ACH yet.

  • One product per installment purchase. Stacking products (like an equity fee plus membership dues) in a single installment plan isn’t supported yet but is on the roadmap.

  • Installment purchases check out on their own. If a member has other items in their cart, like guest passes, those items are removed when they check out with an installment plan. Members can purchase them separately in a second checkout.
