Settings: Text Messaging

Set your club's text prefix, quiet hours, member opt-in wording and texting rules for text messaging.

The Text Messaging settings page controls how your club's texts are labeled, when they can go out, what members agree to when they opt in, and what your club can and can't text.

💡 Text messaging is available on the Premium plan. Interested in upgrading? Visit membersplash.com/upgrade.

Accessing Text Messaging settings

Settings > Site > Text Messaging

  • Click Settings in the top navigation bar.

  • Select Text Messaging under the Site section in the left-hand menu.

Text prefix

Every text starts with your club's name so members know who it's from. To leave more room in each text, enter a shorter Prefix. Leave it blank to use your club name.

Quiet hours

Texts only go out between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM in your club's time zone. This is the legal window for texting.

  • When Narrow the window is off, texts can send any time between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

  • When Narrow the window is on, texts only send between the Start and End times you set. The Time zone shows your club's time zone.

A text sent or scheduled outside the window is held and goes out when the window opens. Emergency alerts (weather or safety only) are the one exception and can go out any time.

Member opt-in wording

This is the consent message members see when they opt in. It names your club, explains that texts cover closures, weather and facility notices, and tells members they can reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for help.

Members are never auto-enrolled; each one must actively opt in.

Saving your settings

Texting rules

Expand Texting rules to see what your club can and can't text. Everyone who sends texts reads these once before their first text.

✅ Text about:

  • Closures and weather

  • Safety and facility notices

  • Hours and season dates

  • Events and reservations

  • Membership and renewals

🚫 Never text:

  • Promotions and discounts

  • Fundraising and raffles

  • Outside businesses and sponsors

  • Loans and crypto

  • Alcohol, drugs and tobacco

  • Firearms and fireworks

  • Adult or hateful content

  • Politics and religion

  • Asking for personal or payment info

  • Phone numbers and short links

⚠️ Breaking these rules can pause your club's texting. Phone carriers block texts that break these rules, and one violation can pause your club's texting while it's reviewed. If it isn't about running the club, don't send it. For fundraisers, promotions or sponsor news, use email instead.
